About Manuel Mendy Goldring

Making a 'living' is not the same as making a 'life,' as I've discovered.

This quotation by poet and activist Maya Angelou isn't the only one about finding happiness outside of a job. There are numerous adages and proverbs that emphasize the need of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. A job is simply a job. Work to live, not work to live. The list goes on and on.

Manuel Goldring, though, sees it as more than just cliches. It extends beyond motivating statements on a poster. It's a philosophy he believes in. It's a way of life for them. After leaving behind a job in accounting, the New Jersey native now spends his days doing just activities that make him happy. Manuel Goldring's priorities are his family, his hobbies, and his passion for technology.

Family has always come first, but that all changed in March. Manuel Goldring discovered an entirely new level of commitment with the birth of his first kid. Being a parent brings him peace and fulfillment. It hasn't been easy, as it is for every new father. Inadequate sleep and a full-time commitment are unrelenting challenges. Nonetheless, the payoff is worthwhile. One of his greatest joys is waking up each morning to his baby's smile. He's learning on the job. Despite what others say, he discovers that every child, including his own, is special. There is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all plan. He is, nevertheless, enjoying the journey. Every day, he discovers something new, intriguing, and rewarding.
